Mollie Beusterien / Potter

I've looked forward to owning my own wheel
and kiln since the 80's. The first time I threw
on a wheel I was hooked. Now that my
children have moved off to college and I am
no longer working, everything just fell into place. I enjoy electric kiln, Raku, wood, gas, pit, and barrel firing. Most of my pieces I would classify as functional, but once in a while go a little crazy with an artistic, organic piece. Lately I have spent some time with porcelain and learning about it's ups and downs(literally). I have also been working on mixing my own glazes, which involves a lot of measuring chemicals on the scales and seiving them into buckets. I am starting to build a nice glaze collection. Although clay, or mud as we call it, might seem to be a simple process, I'm finding everyday there is so much more to learn. This is what keeps me interested and striving to become a better potter. I currently work from my place in Bethel, Ohio and teach at a local artisan center.

Kristina Marcelli / Artist

For me, being an artist is about going out to experience the world and discover what I am passionate about. Then I want to show others why they should care about this too. Being an artist is about changing the world, with one drawing at a time.

My life was changed forever after traveling to Mexico and Jamaica on service trips. I was overwhelmed by the poverty I encountered and could not forget the people’s faces. I decided to create art that reflected my experience. As I began to draw them, this made me feel even more passionate. Drawing these people and freezing their moments in time became a way for me to raise awareness about global poverty and funding to help make a positive chang

John Cahall / Artist

John's interest in woodworking began at an early age building birdhouses in the shop of his father, "Tupe" Cahall. In 1977 a handyman tool set given as a wedding gift from his dad started him on the journey of artistry in wood. Recently John has directed considerable attention to woodturning and has developed a style that reveals the inner beauty in God's magnificent trees. Working primarily with locally available wood such as Walnut, Cherry, Cedar, Ash, Osage Orange, and Maple, "one of a kind" boxes, platters, bowls, and other vessels are produced.

A native of Brown County, John resides on a beautiful nature-rich property near Georgetown, Ohio. Most of his artwork is designed from wood destined for the firebox. "I love to take a piece of wood that no one wants and turn it into a cherished keepsake."  He is quick to remind us that "God created it, I just reveal it."

John is a member of the American Association of Woodturning, the Ohio Valley Woodturners' Guild, and the Scroll Saw Association of the World. He is also co-owner of Sales & Cahall Insurance Agency in Georgetown.
In addition to woodturning, John also exhibits his talents through the art of Intarsia. "Painting pictures with wood" is what John calls it. The ancient art of Intarsia was a form of wood inlay using pieces of different woods cut into thin tiles to create picture mosaics. John shapes and joins individual pieces of various woods utilizing the grain patterns and colors to make segmented 3D art pieces.
