John offers a unique mix of Folk, Blues, Roots and Soulful Classic Rock. Over the past year, John has been writing and recording several original tunes including, Injection of the Blues. John covers artists such as John Prine, Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers and Neil Young.
The SWS writers are a collective group of people in the Cincinnati and Dayton area that work, study and hone the craft of songwriting. Each songwriter brings their own style of original music cultivated from musical influences and raised with the never ending search of writing a better song than the last song written. SWS is also an affiliate of the NSAI (Nashville songwriters association) which provides workshops for local writers. So come and enjoy the original sounds of the SWS songwriters.
The Uptown Stage - Stacy Avenue
(behind Midway Theater)
Unbelievable..the result of another open mic session on The Hill. We are jazzed about having Kelly opening The Uptown Stage for BAMfest. Having grown up in Georgetown, Kelly has been singing with her family in front of crowds since she was old enough to stand. She blew us away last summer when singing as a stand-in for another performer. Now she stages like she has been singing professionally for years. With influences like Patti Griffin, Stevie Nicks and Joni Mitchell, this singer/songwriter's bluesey folk/rock style will blow you away as well.
